What is a cloud-based service?

The cloud-based version has the same features but the service is running in the cloud rather than on your computer.

With Microsoft 365, email services are hosted on Microsoft's cloud infrastructure, rather than on a local device.  This provides users with access to their emails, calendars, and contacts from any device that is connected to the internet.

There are also other advantages, such as enhanced security, automatic updates and back-ups. Users also benefit from features like large mailbox storage, advanced spam filtering, and integration with other Microsoft 365 applications such as Teams and OneDrive, making it easier to collaborate and stay productive.

Many businesses and organisations all over the world are moving services to the cloud as this provides the user with the most up to date services and the best security.
